To process a damaged book for repair...
1. In FOLIO, open the red Check out app.
2. On the left panel, click Patron look-up.
3. Type Book Repair, then click Search. Click on the Book Repair, Holy Cross user account.
4. Scan the barcode of the damaged item to check the book out to the account. This will help indicate that it is not in the stacks.
5. Click End session.
6. Place the item on the lower shelf on the left side of the Dinand Circulation Desk (labeled DAMAGED BOOKS) for repair.
On the first Tuesday of the month, Aidan will check for books to be repaired.
Over time, Chelsea will let Aidan know if there are more books, and the check will be increased to every other Tuesday.
When repaired items are returned...
1. In FOLIO, open the brown Inventory app.
2. In the left panel, click on Item.
3. Use the dropdown to choose Barcode.
4. Scan the barcode of the repaired item.
5. In the right panel, under the dropdown labeled Holdings, click the yellow barcode to open the Item record.
6. In the top right corner, click Actions, then click Edit.
7. Scroll down to Item Notes. Click Add Note, then choose Repair Note from the dropdown.
8. Type in the details of the repair (ex, Spine repair) and today's date.
9. Click the checkbox that says Staff Only.
10. Click Save and close.
11. In the green Check in app, check the book back in.
12. Put the book in its proper reshelving location.
