Procedures for Student Workers and Evening/Weekend Supervisors

16. iPad Circulation Procedure

iPads can circulate to Holy Cross faculty, staff, and students for 7 days*. iPads are located in the upper cabinet next to Phil’s desk. Use the Bloomberg key on the purple lanyard in the top drawer of the circulation desk to open this cabinet.

Staff Check Out Procedure:

  1. Check for charging cord and brick.
  2. Check for any damage to the iPad, case, or charger. (Do not circulate if there is any damage. Put on Chelsea’s desk with a note).
  3. Have the patron read and sign the agreement form, located in the same cabinet as the iPads. Return the signed agreement back to the cabinet.
  4. Check out the item in FOLIO.
  5. Show the patron the iPad passcode: 123456. Patrons are not allowed to change the passcode.
  6. Inform the patron that they may have to periodically sign in to WiFi throughout the loan period.

Staff Check In Procedure:

  1. Check that the passcode is still 123456.
  2. If the passcode was changed, have the patron write down the new passcode. Put the note with the code.
  3. Retrieve the agreement form from the cabinet.
  4. Check for any damage to the iPad. Note any damages on the form.
  5. Check in the iPad in FOLIO.
  6. Ask the patron to sign out of their Apple iCloud and Google accounts if they are still signed in. (Skip this if the patron does not know how - it can be done in the reset process. )
  7. Put the returned iPad and agreement form on Chelsea’s desk.
  8. Chelsea will give the iPad to Bob for the reset process. The iPad will then be returned to the cabinet.

*All iPads have an automatic due date of 7 days in FOLIO, but a due date for the end of the semester can be granted with a supervisor’s approval.
