Procedures for Student Workers and Evening/Weekend Supervisors

7. Bursar Billed Patrons

When Checking Out an item to a patron, or looking in a patron’s User account, you may see this popup:

Do NOT charge anything, except Reserves, to this account until the amount owed is paid In Full - Bursar Billed

The Bursar Billed “status” is put on a student’s account twice per year after the end of each semester. Students will not be able to sign up for classes, receive their diploma, or obtain an official transcript if they are Bursar Billed.

This indicates that a student has been charged for overdue item(s). It will appear on their official invoice from the Bursar.

Students must pay the fine (either online or at O’Kane 159) or return the item(s) to clear the block.

If a Bursar billed student claims to have paid online, Chelsea or Eileen must verify with the Bursar's office, before removing the block.

Supervisors can waive the overdue fines and override the block if the student has returned their item(s). Blocks and notes must be removed by Eileen or Chelsea, and they will contact the Bursar’s office.

If a student requests a renewal of a Bursar billed item, it is up to the discretion of the supervisor at the item's home library to approve or deny the renewal.
