How Librarians Can Help You
Research Librarians
Holy Cross Librarians are here to help you! Each major department has a designated librarian who works with faculty and students in that department to provide research and curriculum support. You may meet a librarian during a library instruction session, where your professor invites the librarian to present to your class about library resources and research skills. You may also sign up for a personal research session, which is an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a librarian for support and assistance with research you're working on. Librarians can help at any stage of a research process, from developing your topic, to finding sources, to deciding what sources to use for an assignment, to checking your citations.
First Year Engagement Librarian
The First Year Engagement Librarian works with you and your Montserrat professors to introduce you to library resources. She is here to help you make the most of libraries and their resources during your first year at Holy Cross. The First Year Engagement Librarian can also meet individually for Personal Research Sessions to help you at any stage of a research assignment. If you have questions about library resources, where to find things, or anything about research, the First Year Engagement Librarian is happy to assist you. And if you see her around the library, feel free to stop and say hello!
