The Department of Education's Civil Rights Data Collection includes data about: enrollment demographics, discipline, school expenditures, teacher experience, and more.

"Based on civil rights data released by the U.S. Department of Education, ProPublica has built an interactive database to examine racial disparities in educational opportunities and school discipline."

This nonprofit organization grades schools based on test scores, equity, access to AP courses, and more. Parents are encouraged to use this information to improve schools or decide which school to send their child to.

"The U.S. Department of Education tool, College Map, was developed to aid students in their college-choice process by visually identifying potential colleges or universities. This tool draws from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data Systems (IPEDS), an annual survey that collects data from over 7,500 colleges, universities, and technical and vocational institutions. Data used in the College Map are for the 2016-2017 year, which is the most recent available data."
