Finding Books and Articles in CrossSearch

                           

Try exploring CrossSearch for books and articles related to your topic.   To search for only books, click the "Catalog Only" button in the left menu of the results page.

Search Tips:

  • Our collections include both Spanish-language and English-language materials.  Use keywords in both English and Spanish.
    • Example:  Federico Garcia Lorca AND biografia  or Federico Garcia Lorca AND biography
  • When you find one book or article that you like, look at the subject terms for that item.  The subject terms can bring you to more relevant resources on your topic.

Finding Books in Other Libraries: WorldCat

                           

Use WorldCat to discover what books other libraries have on your topic.  You can request to borrow these books for free through interlibrary loan.  

Search Tips:  

  • Be sure to check the "Find a Copy in the Library" section of a book record.  This will tell you whether or not the Holy Cross Libraries owns the book you are looking at.  If we do not own the book, click the "Illiad Interlibrary Loan" link to request the book through interlibrary loan

  • Be sure to give yourself enough time to request a book through interlibrary loan.  These items are shipped through postal mail, and generally take 5-10 business days to arrive at Holy Cross.
