Welcome!

Welcome to the Deaf Studies Research Guide! This guide is designed to help you begin and navigate your research process in the field of Deaf Studies. This guide will help you:

  • Search for Books, Journals, and Articles, both in print and online.
  • Understand how to search for these items
  • and more!

Getting Started

Try exploring CrossSearch for books and articles related to your topic.  To search for only books, click the "Catalog Only" button in the left menu of the results page.

CrossSearch

You can access the search bar depicted above on the HC Libraries Home Page. If Holy Cross does not have a book you need, you can use WorldCat to search for books from other libraries and then request these books through Interlibrary Loan.

Research Pro Tip!

When you are starting your research, spend some time brainstorming keywords and search terms. Use subject headings or descriptors to help generate search terms. Start a "research log" to track the keywords and search terms you've used.
