Official Vatican Publications
These series serve as the official published records of the Holy See. Most official letters and pronouncements of the Pope, as well as of various other Vatican offices and congregations, are published here in chronological order. Many of these documents are published in languages other than English; the majority are in Latin, the official language of the Church.
Both series may be accessed online through the Vatican's online Resource Library.

The official record of the church, AAS publishes most official letters and pronouncements of the Pope and of the Roman Curia. The English edition of L’Osservatore Romano is published weekly. Available on microfilm 1970-1998.- OriginsCall Number: BX801 +O69Publication Date: 1971-Dinand Stacks Oversize and Rehm Library. Published by the Catholic News Service, Origins is a weekly English language periodical dating back to 1971. It includes English translations of significant Vatican documents.
- The Pope SpeaksCall Number: BX870 .P8Publication Date: 1954-2005Dinand Stacks. This periodical ran from 1954 to 2005 and includes published papal documents as well as public speeches. All texts are in English. It is also available online through ProQuest Central, 1998-2005.
- The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index (CPLI)Call Number: AI3 .C3Publication Date: 1968-Dinand Stacks (1933-2004 only). Previously published as The Catholic Periodical Index and The Guide to Catholic Literature [BX800 .G9]. An annual, annotated, author-title-subject bibliography covering many Catholic sources including the Acta Apostolica Sedis, L'Osservatore Romano, and Origins, as well as several Catholic newspapers.
