Buddhist Sacred Texts in the Library:

Where to Look:

The Libraries own different editions and translations of various sacred Buddhist texts. There is not a single, universal canon of sacred Buddhist texts; the relevant texts will vary depending on, among other things, the tradition or school in which you are interested.

The major traditions in modern Buddhism are TheravadaMahayana [which includes Pure Land and Zen], and Vajrayana
