Ask A Librarian: Peer Research Help

Meet with a PRC

Peer Research Consultants (PRCs) offer one-on-one appointments and drop-in hours to support Holy Cross students with their library research. PRCs are trained in providing individual, personalized research help to other students. PRCs can help with things like...

Locating sources for a short research paper

Finding books in the library

Starting points for your research topic

Choosing and/or revising search terms

Citing books and journal articles

Drop-in Hours:

For Fall 2025, the PRC's regular drop-in hours are Sundays, 5:00pm-6:00pm, Tuesdays 4:00pm-6:00pm and Thursdays, 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Dinand Main Reading Room.

Schedule changes will be posted to the Libraries' hours page and below:

A meeting with a PRC can sometimes, but not always, be used for assignments where you are required to schedule a research appointment. Please check with your professor to see if this is allowed for your particular assignment.

We encourage all students who are engaging in more advanced research (ex - a capstone or thesis project, senior seminar, etc.) to meet with a professional research librarian instead of a PRC. Meetings with a librarian can be scheduled through our Personal Research Session calendar.
