Google Scholar is a search engine that searches for scholarly information and articles.
For this class, a simple search like
anthropology of + your topic
may retrieve highly relevant results! Be mindful that not everything retrieved by Google Scholar is scholarly. As always, evaluate any resource you find to ensure it is indeed a reliable source of information.
Step 1: Locate the bibliography or works cited list in an article or book relevant to your topic. Identify sources you would like to find for your literature review.
Step 2: Determine which sources are books, and which sources are articles from a magazine, journal or newspaper. If you need help with this, you can ask a librarian.
Step 3: To find books, search for the title of the book in CrossSearch. If Holy Cross does not own the book, search for it in WorldCat, then request the book through interlibrary loan.
Step 4: To find articles, search for the title of the journal, magazine, or newspaper in the E-Journals list. If we do not have access to the journal, magazine or newspaper, request the article through interlibrary loan.
